Folded, this charcoal grill is a 1.2-inch-thin black panel with a cut-out handle — it slides behind the spare wheel, down the side of a boot, or flat against a shed wall. Open it out and the X-frame legs plant a 17 x 10 inch chrome-plated grate at cooking height, with room for a row of sausages and chicken pieces at once. At 5.23 lbs it's light enough to carry from the car park to the sand or the riverbank in one hand. Punched vents along the sides and base feed air to the charcoal bed so the coals stay lit without fanning.
